Toastmasters Club Meets 4/17/08


John Davidson was the prepared speaker at Thursday’s Tri-County Toastmasters meeting. He gave a presentation about the Federal Reserve Banking System.


The Tri-County Toastmasters club met on Thursday 4-17-08 at the Virden Area Community Center. Club members in attendance at Thursday’s meeting were: Todd Austin, Jim Blankenship, John Davidson, Liz Mollett, Casey Tom and Bill Watkins.

Todd Austin from Virden served as the meeting’s Toastmaster or master of ceremonies. Liz Mollett from Auburn was in charge of the Tabletopics, which is the impromptu speaking portion of the program. During Tabletopics, Mollett presented each participant with a copy of a Norman Rockwell painting. Each then had to give a 1 to 2 minute impromptu response about what they thought the story was behind the painting.

The evening’s prepared speaker was John Davidson. Davidson gave an informative presentation about the Federal Reserve Bank. Jim Blankenship evaluated Davidson’s speech.

The Tri-County Toastmasters club, which serves the counties of Macoupin, Montgomery and Sangamon, will next meet on Thursday May 1, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Virden Area Community Center located at 105 West Jackson Street.
